We have the answer!
What shoes should I wear dancing?
You can learn to dance in any shoes, but some will make your learning a little easier.
The simplest answer to the question is to wear "dress shoes." These are the shoes that you normally wear to events such as weddings, church, synagogue, temple, prom, formal parties, funerals, etc. These are probably the shoes that you will wear when dancing at social events.
Ballroom Dance Shoes
The best shoes are made specifically for ballroom dancing and they have suede on the soles.
Ballroom dance shoes have suede soles. Suede soles are the best soles for dancers. They allow you to grip the floor when needed but also to turn without sticking to the floor. Ballroom dance shoes with sude soles will allow you to be your best on the dance floor. It is possible to glue suede to the bottoms of your shoes. Buy suede at Crafts Direct and use Shoe Goo to affix it to the bottom of your shoes. The best bet, thought, is to buy ballroom dance shoes.
